Cloudy Bay Te Koko 2005, Marlborough

The premium label of Sauvignon Blanc from the most iconic label in New Zealand. The last vintage with the old label, Te Koko was a new direction for New Zealand's Sauvignon Blanc. Made to make you think about what you're drinking not to just quench a thirst. The rich creamy almost velvet in nature is due to the barrel maturation, the smooth tropical fruit finishes with a spicy dryness that is complimented with a racy acid through the middle.

Perfectly balanced and likely to take you the evening to understand!

Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Marlborough

From one of the most respected Marlborough wineries comes this latest vintage of Sauvignon Blanc. Saint Clair focus on Sauvignon Blanc more than any other wineries in the country and this wine helps one to understand what Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is all about.

The passion fruit mixed with freshly cut pineapple are the indicators that this wine is typical Marlborough. The fruit is in abundance and a tropical fruit salad and good linear nature allow this wine to express the essence of Marlborough.

88 Points RRP $20

Blind River 2008 Pinot Noir, Marlborough

Good plum colour and bright red ruit that jumps fro the glass and assaults the olfactory system. The nose is of sweet red fruit with typical Marlborough earthy delight. The palate runs smooth with raspberry and cheery preserve wrestling some savoury characters that with a dry zingy edge.

IfWeRanTheWorld

It can be anything, really. Something small (like Start a Kickstarter) or something not-so-small (like refashion the Detroit/Grosse Pointe border, a sad symbol that needn't be. By 2011, we can change Alter Road from notorious to glorious.). Just type it in. Then start with picking up a microaction, and join forces on actionplatforms with people already working to make it happen. Or start an actionplatform of your own.

So - what would you do? Need some ideas?

Matua Road Sauvignon Blanc 2009

From one of the large wineries in west Auckland this Sauvignon Blanc is from Marlborough. The grapes are transported and made into wine at the West Auckland winery.

The colour is very light yellow but the nose gives very good aromatics. The aromatics are of freshly cut hay, sweet tinned peas and some spice whilst the palate is off dry with good fruit concentration. This wine would make a great accompaniment to white fish from the BBQ.

84 Points RRP $15

Durbanville Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2008

Light yellow in the glass. Hay, guava, and lemon mixed with green grass.
The thin light bodied guava and green fruit with dry finish make this wine an ideal simplistic summer wine.
