From one of the most respected Marlborough wineries comes this latest vintage of Sauvignon Blanc. Saint Clair focus on Sauvignon Blanc more than any other wineries in the country and this wine helps one to understand what Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is all about.

The passion fruit mixed with freshly cut pineapple are the indicators that this wine is typical Marlborough. The fruit is in abundance and a tropical fruit salad and good linear nature allow this wine to express the essence of Marlborough.

Churton Sauvignon Blanc 2007, Marlborough, New Zealand

The perception that Sauvignon Blanc is not meant to age is dismissed by this wine. The sheer aromatics and delicate citrus palate lure you into discovering that there are some New Zealand winemakers making age worthy wine.

St Clair Wine Tasting

Last night we had the privilege of hosting Hamish, the winemaker, from Saint Clair winery. We were talked through the latest release of Pioneer Block Sauvignon Blanc wines from block 1 through to block 20. It was great to see the difference in character of the wines side by side. The tasting was hosted at the shop and attended by some great people who seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves and have a much greater understanding of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and its regional character. My personal favourite was Block 2.

Thanks Negociants and St Clair and not forgetting Hell Pizza for supplying food.
