Faiveley Bourgogne blanc 2007
pale straw in colour, blend of fruit, negociant wine, straw on the nose with lemon zest and nutmeg,
very fresh citrus and dry riverstone finish. slightly hot on the finish.
quite simple but offers good value for money.

Faiveley Corton Charlemagne 2005
light golden colour in the glass, flinty mineral mint character with a bit of coconut and vanilla on the nose.
The palate is very well balanced and with nice drying finish. A hint of oak on the finish but doesn't dominate the wine.

Faiveley Mercurey 2007
light ruby in the glass, very bright red summer fruit of raspberry and strawberry, very easy and approachable nose. The palate leads to bright sweet fruit, very approachable. The wine falls away early, the tannins are very smooth relaxed.

Faiveley Clos des Myglands 1er Cru Mercurey (Monopole) 2007
deep ruby colour in the glass but very seductive on the nose with blueberry, blackberry and summer fruit.
Lively black and red fruit mixed with no hint of rusticity and barnyard character but very approachable and commercial in style. Oak makes an appearance on the end palate. Tannin structure is soft from the fruit but the barrel tannin is strong.

Joseph Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 2007
Ruby colour, mint and strawberries, just a hint of cigar and cinnamon on the nose. The one of the first things one notices is the racy acidity and tannin structure, after that you have the purity of fruit but is slightly out of balance with the rest of the wine.

Domaine Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 'Les Cazetieres' 1er Cru 2007
2 Hectares, one of the largest owners in Gevrey. Dark Ruby in colour, tobacco leaf with chocolate and mint drizzled with red summer fruit. Compared to the Joseph Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin, this wine demonstrates what burgundy is about, the balance and nature of this wine is sublime. There is a a nice linear acid that makes up the backbone to this wine with great quality of fruit that is in balance with the oak.

Domaine Faiveley Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2005
dark ruby almost garnet in the glass, very tight on the nose with only hints of what might be in the glass. Dark blackberry and cedar characters. The tannin is the dominant feature that wrap this wine in dryness but the balance is incredible. The fruit is dark with a hint of soy and hidden but the acid is so well balanced that everything is in harmony but it's a hard beast at the moment. This wine is not for the shy retiring characters in life.

Domaine Faiveley Corton 'Clos de Corton' 2003
Very dark rich red almost purple in colour, the raisin, gamey, savory, almond on the nose that would be very difficult to pick in a blind tasting. Almost port like in nature.
This wine is a beast on the palate with raw power from one of Burgundy's hottest vintages. The heavy fruit and character of acidity leave this wine being like Jonah Lomu in a glass. Makes the '05 seem like a pretty feminine girl!
